Running, cooking, walking the dog, or even reading a book: all the things we love to do require our bodies to move, bend, and, to some extent, be flexible. The structures in our bodies that make this possible are the joints, which define the area between two or more bones.
Articular cartilage protects our bones by preventing them from rubbing against each other, acting as a shock absorber to minimize impact, for example, when we jump. Among these structures, the (synovial) fluids help keep everything running smoothly, like lubricant in a bicycle or a car.
Collagen is a fundamental component of the joints, responsible for our strength and flexibility. Over time, the levels and quality of collagen in our body decrease. Why? The balance between collagen synthesis and breakdown becomes disrupted. This can lead to inflammation, pain, stiffness, and bone friction, ultimately causing osteoarthritis (OA) or “wear-and-tear” disease.
In a scientific study[1], elderly women with mild joint discomfort reported a significant reduction in painful symptoms, such as stiffness and pain, after oral intake of VitalVibe Collagen (8 g/day) (Image 1). These positive effects also improved their mobility and joint function after three months (Image 2).

Whether we are 25 or 75 years old, mobility is an important part of our lives. Taking care of our bones is vital. Bones provide our body with the structure and strength we need to keep moving[3]. Many people forget that bones are living tissues that are constantly renewed through carefully balanced processes of synthesis and decomposition, as shown in the following image:
Over time, the balance of our bone metabolism is disrupted, and bone mass loss begins to occur. The quantity and quality of collagen decrease, which can lead to osteoporosis (OP). OP causes bones to weaken and become brittle, resulting in discomfort and an increased risk of fractures. One of the main causes of OP is menopause, which explains why the disease affects women more than men.
Taking care of our body and bones is vital to staying active, healthy, and mobile as we age.

An in vitro study demonstrates that VitalVibe collagen peptides have the potential to stimulate bone health (the balance between cellular formation and decomposition) in mice, even after digestion and absorption by the body[6]. In these experiments, blood extracted from mice before and after ingesting VitalVibe was used to show that digested and absorbed collagen peptides can stimulate the generation and growth of cells responsible for bone synthesis (osteoblasts, Image 3a), while inhibiting the formation of cells that break down bones (osteoclasts, Image 3b).

As a protein, collagen contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass[7]. Additionally, a study conducted on healthy, active young men demonstrated that VitalVibe can stimulate faster recovery after strenuous exercise and also tends to decrease muscle soreness post-exercise[8].
